The Amazing Give

A red circle with the words Ask Me About My Dress! and a black dressFor the third year in a row, the Junior League of Gainesville took part in the Community Foundation of North Central Florida’s Amazing Give 24 hour giving event. The Amazing Give was March 21-22.

Through the Amazing Give, we raised $4,006 from 211 individual donations!

Over 88 North Central Florida nonprofits participated in the Amazing Give this year.

The Little Black Dress Initiative was intended to spark conversations about food insecurity in Alachua County and the work that the Junior League of Gainesville does in our community. For more than 80 years the Junior League of Gainesville has been on the forefront of social reform, identifying problems such hunger, literacy, human trafficking, and child car seat safety among others and finding solutions. Through hands-on training and formal learning opportunities we give the women the skills they need to build a better community.

All funds raised through the Amazing Give make possible the work and mission of the Junior League: promoting voluntary service, developing the potential of women and improving our community. Donations to the Junior League of Gainesville are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and will be used to directly support our mission by supporting our community impact initiatives, membership activities, community outreach efforts and member training.
