We are proud to announce that the Junior League of Gainesville is helping support the A.B.C. All Bottoms Covered Diaper Bank (an initiative of the Alachua County Perinatal Mental Health Coalition) by storing diapers and supplies at 430 North Main. The Diaper Bank had been unable to receive the same amount of donations due to storage and cost issues over the last several months. 1 in 3 families struggle to provide clean diapers for their children, and babies without clean diapers are exposed to more potential health risks and are less likely to be accepted into daycares, leaving parents unable to attend work. There is no state or federal child safety-net program allocating funds specifically for the purchase of diapers. Money spent on diapering children cannot then go towards food and other basic needs. Using our space to support this important goal of #EndDiaperNeed aligns with our mission of improving communities as well as impacting hunger, and we are glad to be able to help!
