  • She shall have reached her 22nd birthday before June 1 of the administrative year in which she will be a new member

  • She shall be proposed by a current member of the JLG

Proposal. Proposal by a current member is the first step to becoming a member of the JLG. If you are new to our area, or if you have not yet met any JLG members, we are still very interested in having you join.  You can review our New Member Application packet to learn more about the details of membership. If interested, you can apply by May 1st to join the New Member class for the following fall. If you have additional questions about membership requirements, please contact the league office - office@gainesvillejrleague.org or by calling 352-376-3805.

New Member Dues.  All Junior League members pay various dues and fees each league year.  Additional information about member's payment requirements, please see the New Member Application packet.  New Member payment can be made by check or online.

Please click here for online payment option.

New Member Year. The "official" League experience begins with a formal training program known as the New Member period. The New Member training introduces interested women to the intricacies and expectations of the League. Meeting topics include JLG structure, history, organization operations, committee overviews, and facilitation and evaluation of the League's goals. New members are required to also attend a minimum of six General Membership meetings and meet other requirements (i.e. volunteer at the JLG Thrift Shop). At the conclusion of the New Member year, the New Member class works together to design and implement its own community project.

After completing the New Member year, volunteers can move on to an "Active" status and participate in one of the League's various committees.
